Add your domain name to your site
You can customize your site's URL by modifying the free URL or by adding your own domain name.
The URL of your site is very important. It allows your visitors and customers to find you, identify you, and easily share your site.
To modify it, click on Settings and then on Domain Name.
Customize the domain to vivlabsite.com
You can have a free URL on vivlabsite.com by adding a custom prefix. This allows you to easily share the address of your site. To customize it:
In the vivlabsite.com Domain box, click the Change button.
Enter your chosen prefix, ideally the name of your business/project.
Save to apply the changes.
Your site is now accessible at the URL https://monprojet.vivlabsite.com (for example).
⚠️ This type of URL is difficult to index on search engines. If you want your site to be easily found, it is best to use your own domain name. This is also recommended to implement the various plugins available on the platform.
Add a custom domain name (recommended)
To maintain the consistency of your brand and optimize your SEO, it is recommended to use your own domain name.
💡 Currently, the Vivlab platform does not offer domain name registration services. You can turn to the domain name host of your choice.
Once you have purchased your domain name from the host of your choice, go to the settings of its DNS zones to modify them. Refer to your host's documentation for guidance, and apply the following rules:
Remove all AAAA type records.
Add an A type record with the name @ and the value 15.188.109.135.
Add an A type record with the name www and the value 15.188.109.135.
If the previous record does not work, add a CNAME type record with a name www and a value corresponding to your domain name (vivlab.com, for example).
Once the changes have been made on your host, go to More > Domain Name on your Vivlab dashboard and add your domain name by following these steps:
In the Your own domain name box, click the Change button.
Enter your domain name (without the www), such as vivlab.com for example.
Save.
On the right side of the page, a box will appear indicating the status of the connection between your domain name and your site. If it does not appear, refresh the page.
Are one or more configuration items indicated as incorrect? Check the settings on your domain name host, wait a few minutes, and then refresh.

💡 The availability of your domain name on your site may take up to 24 hours, as the Vivlab team generates the SSL certificate to secure your site's URL, and therefore your customers' visits.
