A new showcase page editor has been available since July 1st on Vivlab!

On this occasion, Caroline, CEO and co-founder of Vivlab, presents the main changes as well as the new features available to create the pages of your site.

Why a new editor?

Internet is evolving quickly and so is website creation. We are committed to providing you with features that meet your needs and trends. Over the years, we have also gathered your feedback and suggestions, for which we thank you!

We have made the decision to thoroughly review how the editor works, for more flexibility and freedom, while keeping in mind the importance of simplicity in use.

What are the main changes?

A more flexible and free operation

In order to allow you to enhance your content and express your creativity, we have completely redesigned how the editor works.

Now, you can freely place your different elements (text, images, shapes, etc.) on a grid, by clicking on them and dragging them to the location of your choice.

You can organize your page by creating sections, which you can move down or up according to your wishes.

A new view for mobile and PC creation

The customization of the mobile version of your site is more advanced. You can now place the elements in each section as you wish, and modify their shape at your convenience.

To simplify this creation step, you now have a new PC & mobile view. It allows you to juxtapose the PC version and the mobile version of your pages to work on them at the same time.

Real-time saving and page publishing

Changes made to your page are now saved in real-time. This allows you to work on your pages at your own pace. You have control over the publishing of your changes via the publication menu of your page.

You can also access the publication history. In case of an error, this allows you to revert to a previous version.

Advanced customization of the navigation bar and footer

You can now fully customize your navigation bar and footer, using the same operation as your pages.

We provide templates to help you, but you are of course completely free to modify them.

How to access the new editor?

It's very simple: you just need to create a new page to start using it!

If you still wish to use the old editor, that is still possible. To do this, simply check the option Use the old editor in the Advanced settings menu when creating the page.

<aside> 💡 The pages of your site created on the old editor will be migrated to the new one by the end of 2024. You will be informed by email.

What are the impacts on pages created with the old editor?

Your existing pages are not affected by this new version ⬇️

• This new version is available for new pages. Your existing pages are still editable with the old editor. It will also be possible later to automatically migrate your existing pages to the new editor.

• If you wish to use the old editor to create a page, that is still possible. To do this, simply check the option Use the old editor in the Advanced settings panel in the page creation menu.

• Carousels and announcement bars are currently unavailable but they will return quickly in the upcoming updates.
