How it works

Dress up a screenshot in 3 steps

1

Import the screenshot

Drop a file, paste with Ctrl or Cmd + V, or click to browse your disk, and the screenshot lands on a background right away.

2

Set the scene

Pick a gradient, a solid colour or a transparent background, tune the ratio, corner radius and shadow, then drag the image to reposition it.

3

Export the result

Download the finished image as WebP, ready for a post, product documentation or a social banner.

Screenshots that catch the eye

What's it for?

A raw screenshot, dropped in as-is, looks amateur fast. Surround it with a colored background, some padding and a soft shadow, and you get a clean, polished visual, ready for your social media, your docs, a blog post or a presentation.

Framing, zoom and position

The screenshot shows in full, with no cropping. Drag it to place it wherever you like, and play with the zoom to scale it up or down inside the frame. You can lock horizontal or vertical centering with one click; the rounded corners and drop shadow do the rest.

The right format

Pick the format based on where it's going: 16:9 for a banner or thumbnail, 1:1 for a square post, 9:16 for a story. The Open-Graph format (1200 × 630) is built for link previews shared on social networks and messaging, while Auto mode keeps your screenshot's proportions.

The Vivlab tip

Match the background color to your visual identity and keep the shadow light: it stands out more when it stays subtle. Need to drop the screenshot onto an already colored background? Export with a transparent background. Downloads come out in WebP, light and crisp for the web.

Frequently asked questions

What people often ask us

Are my screenshots sent to a server?

No. The whole thing is put together in your browser on a local canvas, and nothing is uploaded. You can dress up an internal screenshot without it ever leaving your machine.

Why does it export as WebP?

WebP gives a lighter file than PNG at the same quality and supports transparency. The image comes out at 92% quality, a solid balance between sharpness and weight for the web.

Can I keep a transparent background?

Yes, pick the checkered swatch among the backgrounds. The exported WebP then keeps its alpha channel, handy for placing the screenshot on any backdrop later.

Which ratio should I pick per platform?

The Open-Graph ratio (1200 × 630) is for link previews on social networks. 1:1 fits the Instagram feed, 9:16 suits stories and reels, and 16:9 works for a YouTube thumbnail or a slide.

What are the shadow and rounded corners for?

The shadow lifts the screenshot off the background and adds depth, while the rounded corners echo an app window. Keep both moderate for a clean look rather than a busy one.
