Your QR code, in seconds !

The free Vivlab QR code generator turns a link or some text into a QR code, right in your browser. Great for your menu, a business card, a poster or a shop window.

Customize the colors and the quality, then download your QR code as PNG or SVG, with no watermark and no limit.

Error correction

The higher the level, the more readable the QR code stays if it gets damaged or partly covered (handy if you add a logo).

How it works

Create a QR code in 3 steps

1

Enter your link

Paste the address of a page, a menu or a profile, or type the text you want to encode.

2

Adjust the look

Pick the colour of the modules and background, the margin and the error-correction level to match your brand.

3

Download the file

Grab the QR code as a PNG for the web, or as an SVG for print: sharp at any size.

Everything about the QR code

What's it for?

A QR code bridges your printed materials and the web. You'll find it on a restaurant menu, a flyer, a shop window or a business card: the customer scans it with their phone and lands straight on your site, your menu or your contact details.

The error correction level

A QR code stays readable even when it's partly damaged, thanks to error correction. The higher the level (from L to H), the more the code can handle a smudge, a fold or a logo placed in the center, in exchange for a slightly denser pattern.

PNG or SVG?

PNG is a pixel image, ideal for screen use or a fixed-size print. SVG is vector based: it stays sharp at any size, perfect for a large poster or a banner.

The Vivlab tip

Always test the scan with a real phone before printing, and keep strong contrast between the modules and the background: a dark code on a light background reads far more easily than colors that are too close together.

Frequently asked questions

What people often ask us

PNG or SVG, which one?

PNG suits a screen, an email or a post. SVG stays sharp at every size, so keep it whenever the code goes to print, on a poster or packaging.

Can my QR code expire?

No. The link is encoded in the image itself, with no redirect or third-party service. As long as the destination page exists, the code works, with no time or scan limit.

What size should I print it?

A simple rule: the code's width is about a tenth of the reading distance. A code scanned from 2 m deserves 20 cm across; for a close scan, 2 cm is enough.

Can I count the scans?

Not directly, since the code points straight to your link. Add UTM parameters to the address before generating the code, then follow them in your analytics tool.

Can I add a logo in the middle?

This tool creates a code without a logo. If you overlay one afterwards, keep it small and raise the error correction to Q or H so the code stays readable.
